Goodbye Harper Lee
"Mockingbirds don’t do one thing except make music for us to enjoy. They don’t eat up people’s gardens, don’t nest in corn cribs, they don’t do one thing but sing their hearts out for us. That’s why it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.”
Rest in Peace Harper Lee and thank you for one of my favorite books and for the character that embodied my childhood. I'll never get sick of people telling me I remind them of Scout. Thank you for teaching me the importance of recognizing the Boo Radleys in my life and appreciating them for the beautiful flawed friends that were there when I needed them. And finally, thank you for being the first person to show me the beauty in being a mockingbird.
